Welcome to the Cathedral of Saint Patrick A parish church is a spiritual family, a fellowship of disciples of Christ. All of us who call The Cathedral of Saint Patrick home are called through our Baptism to follow Christ by worshiping the Father in Sprit and Truth, by loving each other, by teaching the Gospel, and by serving the least of Christ’s brethren.
We live in a privileged moment in the history of the universal Church and of this parish; this is the time of the New Evangelization, a comprehensive plan for the preaching of the Gospel, the reformation of the Church, and the renewal of human civilization. Pope Benedict XVI urgently invites every human person to share in this work by answering the question posed by Jesus to the Apostles on the road to Caesarea Philippi, "Who do you say that I am?" (Matthew 16:15). This is the fundamental question of every human life, and to find the happiness for which God created us, we must each confess with St. Peter: "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God" (Matthew 16:16). The whole Christian life may be described as learning the cost of discipleship by constant conversion from sin and acceptance of the obedience of faith. We are not our own; we have been purchased at a great price by the precious Blood of Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
If you are simply browsing our site, then please enjoy a quick glance at our little corner of the Lord’s vineyard. If you are moving to Charlotte, exploring Catholic Christianity for the first time, or returning to the Catholic Church, then you are most welcome at the Cathedral. Please let us know if we can be of any service to you on your walk towards holiness.
