Welcome to The Cathedral of Saint Patrick
Serving the Charlotte Catholic Community for Over 80 Years
Important construction notes: The next phase of the Cathedral’s renovation project is about to begin. During this phase, work will be done on restoring the stone caps and cross atop the front of the Cathedral, making necessary repairs to the drainage system, and modifications to the landscaping on the parish grounds.
The stone caps and cross will be installed June 12th through 14th. For safety-related reasons, the Cathedral will be closed to the public during this time and all Masses, Confessions and events will take place inside the Family Life Center.
This phase of renovation will also involve the areas adjacent to the Cathedral. After years of root intrusion, we need to remove the vegetation and redo the landscaping so that this problem does not reoccur. This work will begin Monday, June 19th. There will be rolling closures of the various entrances to the Cathedral and areas will be enclosed by protective fencing. Nobody will be permitted to cross the fencing during this work.
We also need to replace our aging HVAC equipment. If anyone is interested in donating toward this expense, please consider doing so.Thank you for your understanding. Please monitor the parish Web site and social media for any additional updates.

Novena Prayer for our Ordinands
Three men will be ordained priests fro the Diocese of Charlotte on the weekend of the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts. Please join in praying this novena for those being ordained beginning Thursday, June 8th through Friday, June 16th:
O Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, to your Holy Hearts do I come to beg for the infinite merits and graces that only God can give.
Jesus, Your Sacred Heart is burning with love for me. I know that you love all of us so much. How often have we hurt You by our sin. How often have I put thorns into Your Holy Heart, by my sin. I am sorry O Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Mary, your Immaculate Heart, loves each one of us as a child. Your heart too is wounded by the sin of the people. What people do by sin to the Heart of Jesus they do to you too. Your holy heart is so sad because people are indifferent to the love and mercy offered by Jesus.
With your Immaculate Heart, O Mary, and with Your Sacred Heart, Lord Jesus, I offer your love with this prayer to our Heavenly Father, and through your Holy Hearts humbly request…
(Petition)
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, I shall never be able to thank you enough for loving me so much. I offer my love in return and hope that your Holy Hearts will find some joy in my poor unworthy heart. AMEN.
